The most delicious Fried Chicken you'll ever have!
6-9 chicken thighs
2 cups buttermilk
2 tablespoons kosher salt
2 tablespoons Hungarian paprika
2 teaspoons garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 tsp black pepper
1 tablespoon Flatiron pepper - Dark&Smoky
3 cups All purpose flour
Peanut or canola oil for frying
Whisk salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, Dark&Smoky, and onion powder in a small bowl. Season chicken with spices. Place chicken in a medium bowl, cover, and chill overnight
Combine buttermilk and egg in a bowl.
In a separate flat baking dish, combine flour, salt, black pepper, Dark&Smoky, and paprika.
Heat oil in the cast iron skillet to 325 degrees.
Dip chicken into the buttermilk mixture, then dredge fully in the flour mixture, then place directly into the hot oil.Using tongs, flip the chicken every 2-3 minutes until both sides are golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees.
